MLM success is, despite what all the “gurus” say, NOT just a business of getting the most leads or simply working the numbers. I’m sick and tired of all the B.S. on the internet out there saying things like “You can have MLM success without talking to ANY family or friends” or “Your upline doesn’t want you to know the SECRETS to MLM success.”
It’s all B.S.
Success in network marketing is about consistency, passion, but most importantly… SKILL.
I can only talk from my own personal experience and observations, but I recently figured out the main reason most people will never have true MLM success
Want to know what it is?
They make the entire process WAY TOO COMPLICATED!
Here’s what I’m talking about…
Bill is a brand new distributor for Company XYZ, which happens to be in the health and wellness industry. He just made his first list of 100 people to call.
Bill is stoked about calling all of his friends and family to tell them about his “awesome new business”.
Here’s what his conversations look like…
“Hey Tom, it’s Bill. I just got involved with this BILLION dollar company and they have the hands-down BEST products for weight loss and overall health. Their main product is actually this juice with a crazy berry from the middle of the Amazon rain forest. There are still local indian tribes that use the berry for survival and they all live to be over 100 years old. The company’s compensation plan is FLAWLESS and you actually get a brand new Mercedes Benz after the fourth level of building your team. I’m expanding in the Denver area and think you would be the PERFECT person for this business. Are you interested in joining?
In short… Bill just failed big-time. MLM success = gone forever.
So what did Bill do wrong?
1) He never peaked interest.
2) He talked too much.
3) He didn’t use a company tool.
If I’ve learned ANYTHING about MLM success, it’s that your primary goal with any prospect is to get them to the company tool and then follow up to collect a decision.
This can be done in literally 30-90 seconds without the need to puke all over your prospect with the details.
Why would you even get to details of the business if they’re not even open to checking it out in the first place?
So, real quick… Would it be OK if I explained something to you about MLM success?
Every MLM leader knows that people will only want to join your business if they can imagine themselves doing doing what you’re doing.
Think about it…
If they think that they have to explain every little detail about the business and “sell” people on it, I guarantee you most people wont join.
So here are the 5 words you need for MLM success (I actually already used them above…):
“WOULD IT BE OK IF…”
See here’s the deal…
People like being asked permission for things to happen. It makes them feel like they’re in control of the next step.
This is what I call permission marketing.
So… if you’ve already peaked their interest and asked for permission for the next step, I can guarantee that 90-95% of your prospects will be open.
So what’s the next step?
Your company tool!!!!
Here is an example of how I use this MLM success tip in conversation:
“Hey Tom, it’s Phil. Glad I caught you. Do you have 2 minutes to talk? I’ll make this short. I recently got involved with a business that’s allowing people to save up to $800 monthly in taxes, have an additional $500-$5,000 of monthly income, and the ability to spend more time with their family. Most people are super-curious about how this is possible and want more information. Some people aren’t, and would rather just continue complaining about things in their life instead of taking charge. Would it be OK if I sent you some information about what I’m up to? If it’s a good fit, I’d love to help you get started. If not, no big deal.”
See what I did there?
If you can learn how to peak interest, show value, and then ask for permission on the next step, your journey toward MLM success will be much faster.
Another thing… MLM success is all about the ability to get as many people as possible (and as fast as possible) to your company tool.
So what would be easier (in your mind) to attain MLM success?
1) Call each person on your list and spend 1-2 hours explaining your business?
2) Call each person on your list, quickly peak interest, and get them to a company tool?
